FF7 Rebirth: How to date Cid, Cait Sith, and Vincent
There’s a secret Gold Saucer date where you can unlock a FF7 Rebirth romance scene with Cid, Cait Sith, and Vincent Valentine – but it comes at a high price. Rebirth treats the hidden romance as a joke date night when all of Cloud’s other options fall through, and for a fail state, you have to work surprisingly hard to actually get it.
Our FF7 Rebirth Cid, Cait Sith, and Vincent romance guide explains how to let Cloud spend a night on the town with the lads.

The only way to unlock the secret Gold Saucer date scene is by keeping Cloud’s relationship with every other party member low. You’ll want to avoid hitting level four before Chapter 8 and keep it below level five by Chapter 12.
You can press “L1” to bring up little smiley face icons above your allies’ heads that indicate Cloud’s relationship with them. Dark blue corresponds to level four and light blue to level five. As long as you’re not at either stage with anyone, then you should be set by the time Chapter 12 rolls around.
Every other character has a mini-date scene in Chapter 8. As far as I can tell, Cid, Cait Sith, and Vincent just… don’t. If you haven’t reached relationship level four with anyone else in the party, Cloud goes to sleep like normal, and nothing happens.

Your best bet for keeping Cloud’s relationships low with everyone else is to avoid completing side quests. Almost all of Rebirth’s side quests involve at least one party member and go a long way toward improving Cloud’s relationships with them. During conversations with party members, pick options that seem neutral, uncaring, or rude, and put everyone on rotation.
Avoid keeping the same allies in your party for long periods of time, since spending time with them and using their synergy abilities counts toward deepening Cloud’s relationships.
The downside to all this is that you’re missing a lot, and not just in character development. Side quests give you SP to unlock new folio abilities with and party XP to unlock new folios. Synergy abilities are almost vital in some cases, when you’re desperately trying to raise everyone’s ATB meter so they can actually be useful.
If that sounds like a miserable time, the good news is you can avoid it all. After you finish FF7 Rebirth once, you can access the “Extra Settings” menu and select which Gold Saucer date you want, including standard and intimate scenes with other characters. Make your choice, and then replay Chapter 12 to get the Vincent et al. scene.
