Lies of P release times: when can you start playing?
Lies of P is a surprisingly good soulslike inspired by Carlo Collodi’s timeless classic The Adventures of Pinocchio. The game, which has already garnered very positive reviews, is launching today across all platforms, for owners of its standard edition, and Game Pass subscribers.

What time can you play Lies of P?
Lies of P is not getting a simultaneous release across all platforms, and while Xbox and Steam players will be able to start playing at the same time in most time zones, PS5 owners may have to wait a bit more depending on their location.

Lies of P: Deluxe Edition release times
Deluxe edition pre-orders across all platforms have already received up to 72 hours of early access, so players who purchased the more expensive edition have been able to enjoy the game over the last weekend.
Lies of P: Game Pass release time
Lies of P is also coming as a day-one release to Xbox Game Pass, so subscribers will be able to start playing at the same time as all other Xbox players, at no additional cost.

Lies of P: New Zealand trick
As the game is not launching simultaneously across all time zones, you might be wondering if and how you can pull off the New Zealand trick to play early.
You need to have the game’s standard edition pre-ordered and preloaded or you may have to buy it with another account. In any case, the New Zealand trick involves fooling your console into thinking you're in the NZ time zone.
New Zealand trick on PS4 or PS5
On PS5 or PS4, go to Settings > System > Date and Time, and then change your time zone to “UTC+12:00 Wellington”. You may need to restart your console for the change to take effect.
If this doesn't work, you may also need to create a separate PlayStation account with the location set to New Zealand, and pre-order the game with it. As long as you have your main account and New Zealand account on a PS5 or PS5 set as your primary console, you can play the game on either account.
New Zealand trick on Xbox Series X|S
On Xbox Series X|S, you go to Settings > System > Time, change your time zone to “UTC+12:00 Auckland, Wellington”, and restart. It may not work if your location is not set to New Zealand too, but be advised that it goes against Microsoft’s Terms of Service to set a different location, and you shouldn’t be doing it unless you’re actually a resident of the country you’re selecting.
New Zealand trick on Steam
There's no way to do the New Zealand trick on Steam, and no point in doing it anyway, as the game launches simultaneously across all time zones on Valve's store.
There is no guarantee that the trick will work for Lies of P and/or your platform, but if it does work, the game is coming out at midnight New Zealand time, which is 1 p.m. BST / 8 a.m. EDT.
