Honkai: Star Rail – Yukong build and ascension guide
Chase the wind and embolden your allies with the best Honkai: Star Rail Yukong build. This ace pilot who climbed the career ladder in the Sky-Faring Commission follows the Path of The Harmony and deals Imaginary Damage, though her main strength is to buff up other members of her party – and just like her popular underling Tingyun, Yukong’s buffing abilities make her a very valuable character.
Yukong’s Skill, Emboldening Salvo, grants her two stacks of Roaring Bowstrings (of which she can maximally have two at the same time). As long as one stack is active, all allies gain a buff on their Attack stat. One stack of Roaring Bowstrings gets depleted every time an allied character ends their turn.
Yukong once was a great pilot.

Her Ultimate, Diving Kestrel, deals Imaginary Damage to a single attack. If Roaring Bowstrings is active while the Ultimate is used, the buff additionally gains boosts to Critical Hit Rate and Critical Hit Damage for all allies.
Compared to Tingyun, Yukong has a bit more firepower of her own. Her Talent, Seven Layers, One Arrow, increases the effectiveness of her Basic Attack against the enemy’s Toughness.
Her Eidolon Level 4 adds to this, granting herself 30% more damage when Roaring Bowstrings are active. Eidolon 1 allows her to automatically increase the Speed of all allies by 10% for two turns upon entering battle. Eidolon 2 lets Yukong regenerate five Energy for each ally reaching their Energy limit. Finally, Eidolon 6 creates one stack of Roaring Bowstrings when Yukong uses her Ultimate.
Yukong uses bow and arrow in battle, becoming the second character after March 7th to do so.

Honkai: Star Rail – Yukong: best Light Cones
The Path of the Harmony has only access to one 5-Star Light Cone at the moment: The Battle Isn’t Over, the signature gear of Bronya. Yukong still benefits a lot from it, but she can’t use its effects to their fullest.
The Battle Isn’t Over allows its wearer to restore a Skill Point for the team after using their Ultimate on an ally, but since Yukong’s Ultimate targets an enemy, this effect won’t trigger. However, Yukong still grants the next acting ally a considerable damage boost after using her Skill, so if you have only Yukong as a Harmony character and somehow ended up with this Light Cone, then feel free to let her use it.

Since Yukong is the first 4-Star character dealing Imaginary Damage and could thus be your only character of that damage type, it might well be worth boosting her damage output. For the Planar Ornaments, you can either go with an option supporting the entire team or one that increases the Energy Regeneration of Yukong, enabling her to use her Ultimate more often.
Best Relic Sets for Yukong:
- Wastelander of Banditry Desert (4) – +10% Imaginary Damage, +10% Critical Hit Rate when attacking debuffed enemies, and +20% Critical Hit Damage when attacking imprisoned enemies.
Best Planar Ornaments for Yukong:
- Fleet of the Ageless (2) – +12% maximum HP, +8% Attack for all allies if the wearer’s Speed surpasses 120.
- Sprightly Vonwacq (2) – +5% Energy Regeneration Rate, the wearer's action is Advanced Forward by 40% at the start of battle if their Speed is 120 or higher.
Prioritize the following Relic and Planar Ornament stats for Yukong:

Yukong is a fantastic asset that can fill the support slot on many teams. You’ll probably want her to replace Tingyun whenever you know that you’ll face enemies with weaknesses to Imaginary Damage. Teams with other Imaginary Damage characters might also prefer Yukong, because one of her Traces allows her to passively buff the damage output of other characters with that specific damage type.
- Welt (DPS), Silver Wolf (DPS), Yukong (Support), Luocha (Healer)
Those with all three existing Imaginary Damage characters and Silver Wolf can build a solid team with these components: Silver Wolf can implant the Imaginary Damage Weakness into every enemy that doesn’t already have it, allowing Welt to go ham. Yukong can support the overall damage output and contribute some of her own. Luocha keeps the team standing.

Here’s everything you need to know to get Yukong ascended to the maximum level and upgrade all of her talents.
Yukong requires the following ascension materials to get to level 80 in addition to the necessary XP:

- Artifex’s Module x12
- Artifex’s Cogwheel x13
- Artifex’s Gyreheart x12
- Golden Crown of the Past Shadow x50
You can collect Artifex’s Modules, Cogwheels, and Gyrehearts from Entranced Ingenia and other enemies on the Luofo as well as the Simulated Universe. You can create or exchange them through the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express, too. Artifex’s Modules are one of the base materials you can easily farm through the Daily Assignments to your characters, making for a steady income of the material.
Golden Crowns of the Past Shadow are dropped by the Stagnant Shadow in Backwater Pass or gained through the exchange of similarly rare materials. The best source of Credits is the Golden Calyx in the Great Mine.

As usual, you can create the high-level materials by using up lower-level materials in the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express.
Destroyer’s Final Road is rarer material only gained from the Echo of War (Supply Zone) domain, while Tracks of Destiny can be obtained during time-limited events, the Embers Exchange, the Nameless Honor, or as a Simulated Universe Points Reward.
