As you progress through Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth you’ll move through six distinct regions, and some of there are separated by sea or air. While you can walk between Grasslands and Junon, or Corel and Gongaga, the other regions will require special transport to access.

The special transport you need comes in the form of Chocobo Carriages, Ferry Docks, and Cid’s Tiny Bronco airship. In this guide we’re breaking down how you can return to earlier regions to complete World Intel tasks and Quests so you don’t have to worry about missing anything in FF7 Rebirth.

You’ll find each of these regions and areas through Main Story progress, but if you want to return to an earlier area, make sure to follow the steps below.

How to return to earlier areas – FF7 Rebirth

All regions will eventually be available to fast travel to.

All regions will eventually be available to fast travel to.

As long as you’re not confined to some of the select Main Story gameplay segments that restrict Fast Travel, you can always return to earlier areas – that includes Kalm – if you give it enough time. If you want to travel to an earlier region, you can walk in some cases, but the best way to travel is via a Chocobo Carriage, Ferry, or Airship. These will make traveling to previous regions much easier, so you can always return to finish off side objectives.

There are also two Heliports in the game, but these will only take you between Costa Del Sol and the Gold Saucer.

Once you reach Chapter 12, the Tiny Bronco will become a ship with which you can cruise the world. At this point you can freely travel between regions without having to use a Chocobo Carriage or Dock.

Chocobo Carriage locations – FF7 Rebirth

Chocobo Carriages are intended for land traversal, but they can also take you to overseas airstrips, for some reason. Using a carriage to travel costs 300 gil per time.
